depression during pregnancy?!

I think I am having bouts of despression.

DH started a project this week AND my mom came to visit. Now she's gone and he's at work on a Saturday. All week I've been feeling to anxious and just sad. I don't really know why.

I've cried about 3 times this week and I just feel like things aren't going to get done for the baby since he is on this project for the next 6 or so weeks. That leave MAYBE one month to finish the nursery and if we don't do it before he gets here it won't get done.

That and I want him to have time with Will before the new baby comes and Will has to share.

There's just so much going on and this project sucks. He's trying to rearrange things so he's here - WORKING- on weekends so we will see if that makes me feel better.

If I don't feel better by the end of next week I WILL call my doctor.

oh - and I just don't feel HAPPY- and anyone who knows me knows I am always cheery and smiling - I have to force a smile right now. . .

I just HATE feeling like this.

I also starting having braxton hicks this week - at least I think. I didn't have them with Will, but my stomach gets really hard and it's uncomfortable.
 
(((hugs))) BTDT, and all I can say is get help before it gets out of control!

This past pregnancy (I just delivered 13 days ago! :p ) I really suffered from depression. My daughter's health is still not 100%, and I felt SOOOO guilty being pregnant with/excited for a new child. It got so bad that I feel like I never bonded with the baby while I was pregnant. Now that he's here, I'm fine, couldn't love this little guy more, but I feel like I let my emotions rob me of my time while Ian was in the womb.
 
The hormones are killer during pregnancy, (that is why us women do it, men never could:))

i am not pregnant and starting to wonder if I need something. My hubby said to me 'I am not talking to you because if I don't say anything than you be grumpy at me' It just kind of hit me, I never realized I was being bad until he said that, now I am wondering....

I'm pregnant with my fourth. I have been under way more stress this time around. I have found that I have had more mini meltdowns than I ever have. I'm overly hormonal/sensitive.

In fact, I've been so stressed that I've only gained about 3 pounds so far. (Granted, I started out with extra cushioning and probably shouldn't gain anything anyway).

As for the braxton hicks, make sure you are hydrated throughout the day. I would also try not to worry too much about whether the nursery gets done, remember, the baby won't know the difference. I have waited til my kids are a little older to actually decorate their rooms, in something that they will grow with.

I had very big anxiety/depression issues with my third, issues that I have all the time but they were 100x worse during my 2nd/3rd trimester.

Talk to you doc, definitely! But also talk to your DH, it helps to have support during the rough times. I also tried to find my triggers... what things sent me into a real down spiral, and then we worked on reducing those.

You are definitely not alone! HUGS!

I think everyone of course goes through the hormonal ups and downs.. but add mega stressers on top of that and things can spiral quickly. If you're concerened, there's nothing wrong with talking to your dr. Hang in there!! How far along are you?
 
SO things got bad again today. I saw my doctor and he saw me pretty much right away. He's very concerned with ANY signs of depression so he gave me Zoloft and wants to see me next week - which happens to be my regularly scheduled appointment anyways.

DH is going to start COMING HOME at 11, so we have alone time everynight.

I'm going to go to my sister's for a couple of days to get some stuff I loaned my niece when she had her son, and just to get away and give DH a chance to catch up at work since he had to take off to go with me -- I didnt want to have to take Will back if I was going to end up in tears.

I did get to hear my little man's heart though. 140 BPM. My doc never tells me that stuff, but his nurse did.
 
So glad you were able to get in to see your doctor today and even happier that he listened to your concerns and is being proactive. :) Hoping the meds and change in "life schedules" will give you some relief very soon!!!
 
I had more postpartum depression but I was on Zoloft during my third pregnancy b/c wasn't sleeping during the night. I think my hubby was sad when I quit taking it b/c I think I was extra happy :) However, I've been more stressed and anxious lately and I keep thinking I need to talk to my doctor about going back on something! I'm so glad your doctor was proactive!!! Mine was too and it was just so wonderful!
 
Aww honey! I hope everything gets better for you! I know how rough it can be! Good to hear that your doctor gets right on top of things! That always makes things better! ((Big Hugs))
 
I am so sorry, I know that must be hard. I didn't deal with pregnancy depression but had one major case of post-partum. Have struggled with anxiety and off and on bits of depression ever since then. Big hugs to you sweetie!

Amy, my boyfriend has a prescription for Zoloft for anxiety (he has severe anxiety!).
