Deadline

There is nothing quite like a sale expiring in 2 days to make you hustle to finish that album you were supposed to have finished. I just powered through 21 double layouts, one double page cover and a template layout in 1 day and 4 hours!! The double layouts already had all the pictures set, but needed papers and ellies. Still I'm quote pleased with myself. Also helpful with sick kids home from school so I had to stay home from work.

Anyone else get motivated by a sale deadline to hustle?

Yes!! I had a 40% off Blurb coupon in the summer & I wanted 100 pages done before printing... I managed to get the last 7 or so done before the coupon expired!

I usually have to have outside motivation to finish my scrap projects too. Not a sale... but a couple years ago my Disney album was taking me forever to finish. It was crawling along. So I signed up to host a 6 week Project Scrap marathon at Scrapaneers just for accountability! Lol... I knew I'd finish for someone else but not myself! It worked! :P I have another Disney album in the works and I think I need a kick in the pants to get me started again!

I love me a good deadline! Speaking of which, I just got an email from Shutterfly about unlimited free pages, ends Sunday. I have two books ALMOST done in anticipation of this sale, but I'm not sure I'll be able to finish them up because of all the CT work I still have to do, lol! And of course, it's my least favorite parts: title pages and covers. Blech.

I always forget the small extras like "oh yeah that cover I was going to make".

Wow.....wow!! That's impressive!! Yay for you for getting SO much done in such a short amount of time!! I wish I had that kind of energy to be able to do so much work like you just did!!

Wow! That's a lot of pages!
Sometimes a sale motivates me... especially if I have a big book I need done and hate paying so much for.

Right now I'm pretty happy to have most of my pages (130 out of 170) uploaded to Persnickety Prints before this weekend. But that's almost all my scrapping since February.

It was more of a just sit down and power through than have the energy for it. My kids were home sick, but not so sick they needed me for much so I just sat with them and scrapped while they chilled.
Also I haven't scrapped a lot lately so this just worked somehow.

Christine!!! I'm in love with your photobook, especially your cover (front and back)!!!:thumbup::thumbup: Super wow for the 21 days of vacation!!

Yeah, blech! When I printed my book this summer, I searched here for ideas about cover/title pages & was inspired by someone's fabulous idea to swap out a photo from a layout in my book for a journal card/word art to use on the cover. I'm happy with the way it turned out, and happy that I didn't spend too much time on it!

I use the same "template" for my PL albums and vacation albums every year, just switch out the flowers.

Makes it easy since I only use one style for all.

Every time I see this thread I keep panicking that it's about the dsd deadline and that it got moved up or something. hahaha

carry on. lol

btw your covers are GORGEOUS

My internet finally let me open your book... LOVE the consistent design throughout the book. The embellishments on the edges are just enough to look at while still keeping the simple style & focus on the photos! Beautiful! It will be so exciting when it arrives at your house!

Love your photo book, Christine! Those covers are awesome! I managed to get one book finished and ordered, and I’m going to work slowly on the other one and wait for the next sale. I love that idea to switch out the photo for a pocket card!

Thanks for mentioning the shutterfly sale. I've been waiting for it and now I know what I'll be doing this weekend! I, too, hate making the cover the most. Some awesome ideas here!!

Oh my goodness Christine! Your book and covers are amazing!!! And your templates, What a great idea !!
