? Changing Profile Pic

Just wondering....I updated my avatar and wanted to update my profile picture too. It shows my updated photo under "edit profile picture" but when I comment in the gallery it reverts back to my old photo.

The avatar is updated in the forum so its just the gallery that isn't updating. Am I missing a step or something?

Thx for trying to help Sherly. I did that numerous times and it doesn't work. It won't let me change the photo. I tried uploading the 150x150 pic from my HD and also from my smugmug hosting site but neither will work. It shows my pic but it says "upload failed".

I am stumped.

maybe it's the actual file size that's too big?
 
100 x 100 at 7 kb is the smallest one I tried and that wouldn't work either. What size is working for you?
 
Here are my sizes but yours isn't that far off from my profile size.
My avatar is 150x150 at 11.9 KB
My profile is 100x100 at 6.84 KB
 
Thx Mary. Yes, my photos are very similar to your size, so that's not the problem.

It accepts the change in profile pic and shows it on my profile but it doesn't show it in the gallery, it still reverts back to the previous photo.

The edited avatar for the forum changed with no problem but for some reason the gallery profile pic just won't change. I tried a few different photos, at a few different sizes, but no luck. This will remain a big mystery I guess.

I've also tried uploading from both smugmug and my HD but that didn't make any difference.

For some reason....the gallery just really likes my old photo and won't let go of it :)

I see that both your profile pic and gallery pic are the same? Maybe it's not changing on your end? I think your profile/avatar pic looks great either way! :wub:

Huh...that is weird LOL.
So, Mary....you see the same pic for avatar and profile pic?

In Gallery posts - I see a dark background and my hair tucked behind my ears (my old pic).

In forum posts - white background, my hair is shorter and I am wearing glasses (the new one I uploaded).

This isn't what you see? I think the gallery is just messing with me LOL.

Maybe so? lol I see the newer pic (white background, hair is shorter and wearing glasses) for both. :)

I see the new photo (a lovely one it is too) in both places. Perhaps its a cache issue or some some techo thing that the IT guys always tell me at work.
 
That is too weird LOL. But I am happy that it did change and update to a new pic of me (even if I can't see it). Thx for the help and the compliments. I lot a ton of weight and got a short haircut...totally different for me :)
 
it could just be you need to clear you cookies/cache in order for you to see the change. Sometimes when I edit a layout and upload a different version, it takes my computer a while to see it.
 
Suzanne and Wendy were right....I cleared out the cache and restarted my browser and voila....there is the new pic!

I have an avatar in the forum but I don't see one in the gallery? I've updated both the Avatar and Profile Picture in the User CP. halp? lol
 
I just checked your profile & one of your layouts in the gallery, they have the same avatar as the one on your post above me. So, I think it could just be that it takes a while to change.

I am going to do this because I have been trying to change my pic for a week or so - !
 
It is strange. If I post this I see my old picture. Me being pregnant. But if I click my profile I see the new picture I uploaded.
