Beauty in nature

What's a small detail in nature that you find beautiful? Spotted this question online and thought it was perfect for us here. So, I'll answer first.
Any time I can see something through a macro lens, so that it is super close up, tiny amazing details are revealed and they are so beautiful. Doesn't matter if we are talking flowers or insects or other.
Example:Macro-Flower-Picture07.jpg

ohhhh anything and everything! That is so pretty - i've never really played much with macro photography. Do you have a camera with a macro lens or is this with your phone?

"sun glitter" on water makes me happy. I don't know if there is a better or actual name for it?
There is an artist I really love on instagram and she did a painting that I would love to have a print of one day:

I pretty much love all of her artwork though.

Smells are a big one too - part of where I go on my walk is a trail by a creek in the woods and I wish I could bottle up that exact smell WITH the freshness you feel on your skin.. LOL

added - first snow on the mountains after summer. Mountains should always just have snow on them I think haha.

I love having fresh flowers in our yard. One of the most interesting ones is the Gloriosa Lily. It looks like it's been turned inside out.

I have SO many photos of flowers. Gladiolas, roses, daffodils, orchids, azaleas, hydrangea, sunflowers, gardenias, irises, honeysuckle, passion vine, zinnias, cashmere bouquet, daylilies, hyacinth, etc, but I'll spare y'all from all the photos I have of them. :ROFLMAO:

Flowers on trees. Apple blossoms around here, but when I saw magnolia trees and cherry blossom trees a couple of years ago, I was in love. I love flowers, but there is just something about blossoms on trees that is just extra beautiful.

After reading your post, I was so excited to photograph some flowers in my yard! I got outside to see my husband had weed whacked them to the ground! He did leave one standing, forlorn and traumatized, by its lonesome!

Mine is more a big detail than a smaller one, but I LOVE waterfalls! Anytime I can see one on a trip, is my favorite time! Aside from that, I would say birds (more hearing them than seeing them...but they are so fun!) Raindrops on a window or even just sprinkling the ground, not a full on downpour, but just a few light sprinkles. I like to hear them on the roof, hitting a window and the smell of rain. New buds on the trees (here in MI we have all 4 seasons, and it is easy to miss the spring buds)

big fan of waterfalls too. Just the other day I was looking at a post from the faroe islands with a lake above a waterfall and now I want to go there.. I wish travel was free.

Dappled light on waterways is for sure gorgeous. And yes, there are parts of forests where I adore the smell. If I go through pines, that smell brings me back to childhood summers for some reason. Snow on mountains is pretty for sure - I look at it probably 8 months a year on Mt. Hood in Oregon. But I just don't like dealing with the inconveniences of winter weather - aka snow.

Totally a cool looking lily. I'm sure your garden must be quite pretty with that listing of flowers.

There is a moment in March where all the flowering trees in Portland, Oregon seem to come into bloom. My favorite site was a cool old pink or maybe it was light purple, victorian house that had a pink flowered tree out front - and enough of the flowers had fallen such that there was a pink carpet below. I did stop and take a photo but no clue where that is around my photo drives!

All wonderful things. I'm loving this thread as I get to think of my love of near everything mentioned in it.

I've never really seen the milky way. One day I need to find a way to be in the middle of nowhere on a clear night to witness this miracle that dwarfs us all.
You so do!

I live where there's a TON of light pollution and had an existential crisis the first time I saw the vast spill of stars.

I'll be honest and say that it doesn't look quite this impressive in person though; the camera can take in so much more light than the human eye.

I don't know how far this is from you but I saw it on my dark skies map: Cloud Cap

Little critters I'm never not giddy to see an opossum, ground hog chipmunk, cardinal etc and waterfalls
They are all sweet. I suppose I shouldn't mention that my childhood dog once brought us just the head and one arm of a groundhog that she must have killed and dropped it at our feet. Naturally we let our mom take care of it!!!

Eww I was house sitting and their husky left a mangled squirrel on my pillow it was not fun to wake up to

These just popped up in my notifications on FB as a Look Back At This Moment. This must be a new feature because I don't remember seeing this type of notification before. But there was a post with all these photos I shared, so it was easy to grab them and share them here. On this day (6/20/2016) had taken my Mama to her second cataract surgery, and after we took a nap, we walked around her garden for twelve minutes. This was before having my spinal cord stimulator (about 15 months before that surgery) and I was in agony.
