Asking for prayer

Just an update on my son Timothy for those of you not on FB or following my blog -- I'd asked for prayer before his surgery two weeks ago.

As it turns out, he's developed pneumonia and complications from surgery and isn't doing well at all. He crashed the other day and had to be sedated and put on a ventilator to give his body time to rest and heal from the pneumonia. We're seeing some slow improvement every day, but it's hard. They plan to try to take him off the ventilator on Monday to see if he can breathe on his own. If he can't, they'll give him a trach again. (The surgery he had was to remove the trach in the first place.)

I would love any prayers you all could spare for Timmy. We miss his happy smile and silliness so much!

Thanks, friends. Getting a trach again isn't the worst thing in the world, and he probably would only need it until next spring. He was happy and healthy and growing with it -- but it does make his care pretty complicated and we pretty much quarantine him at home during the cold and flu season. I'd planned to do that this winter even without the trach, so if this is what it takes for him to come home, I'm fine with it.

Done & done. My son was very sick. I know how gut wrenching watching your child suffer is and feeling helpless. The machines make everything so much more intimidating. We lived day to day by the beeping on the monitors. <3 hope he gets better soon!
