2025 Scrap goals?

I'm sure we've already talked about this somewhere--aren't we always talking about this, haha? But today I was so inspired by Jacinda's layouts about her trip to Tunisia that I used the same templates to work on my Europe trip from (this is crazy) 1994! I've literally had over 30 years to do this, and I've been dragging my feet waiting for perfect motivation and kits and whatever. But I'm tired of seeing it on my hard drive, and I REALLY want to get it printed! I only have about a dozen or so more pages to do, if that, and I know I can get it done if I just sit down and DO IT. So I got these done today:

What are some projects you guys are working on?

wow!! how awesome and 1994 - did you have notes or a diary or something to look back on or do you have a really good memory and just remember the trip? I want to Norway in 1996 to visit my sister and I don't remember a whole lot about the trip (except for all of the things that went wrong; which was a lot)

Maybe I should find my old photos and scan/do something with them

I did keep a diary of sorts--but I was SO DUMB and worried about the boys who were on the trip and didn't write about the things that I want to remember now! But I did keep some good records about what we did each day. The saddest part is I can't compare notes with my mom anymore, because she's been gone so long. But I LOVE the photos and I want to print it and have it to look at. You should definitely get your old photos from your trip scanned in and printed! I find that when I don't remember enough about what happened in a particular place, I can look up info online and write about that, or I can journal about how I feel about the photos now, looking back.

Several years ago I scrapped old vacation photos from the 80's/90's. Since those were the days of film, I didn't have as many photos as I do these days. And, I didn't keep a diary either. So journaling is sparse but googling helped me identify things in the photos (like the Skyway Bridge at Tampa).

My goals for this year (once I get my new glasses so everything isn't blurry) is to finish my October Daily and Document Your December for 2024. Next up is my bus trip to Cape Cod in October 2024. I did keep a diary for that one and since it was an organized trip, I have a written itinerary that I kept. My friend that went me with also posted some photos and comments on Facebook so I copied that to a OneNote page to also help with the memories of the trip.

When I've finished those 3 projects, I need to get back to scrapping for my cousin. I'm about 15 months behind for them.

I need to catch up on vacation albums. I am currently working on our Los Angeles vacation from June 2022. I also need to do albums for 4 other vacations before our next one this summer and another planned for a year from now and a girls trip in March. So vacation albums is the goal!

I need to finish my PL 2017. Yes I know it's old, but the issue I have with this was that, we went to Disneyworld, so I was torn between making another book for it and just include some photos on the PL 2017 or include all the photos in the PL. This is 7 years of my existentian indicisivenes.

1994, wow! Good for you for making progress on that album!!

I'm very behind on Project Life 2023 & 2024. I have a plan in place to get those done, but I also want to do 2 non-PL pages a month. And I probably ought to make those my 2016 Disneyland layouts. I'd love to finally get that book knocked out!

I need to finish up 2023 and wait for a book sale. I finished 2022 and 2018 last year, so maybe I'll shoot for also finishing 2017 this year and getting that printed.

Just to keep up with everything.

I just started on December 2024 today, I'm all current on both the boys albums, Coop graduates in 2026, so not that much left to go on his. And I really just recycle those pages for Harper's. LOL! So his is the easiest of the three, I swap photos, make minor adjustments.

Once I finish December, I'll order my September - December 2024 book, and my printing will be all caught up.

These are great goals! I'm so amazed at those of you who are "caught up" especially on printing. I think perfectionism holds me back from finishing projects, because I think I should wait for a better time or mood or a new kit being released. I shouldn't listen to that story though! Done is better than perfect! Right?

I am with Laura. Life has been so busy and I am ready to get back to scrapping and being crafty. So scrapping more in 2025 is my main goal for sure.

Love everyone getting caught up and tackling old photos. I have sooo much to get caught up on!

I often think that, or like something will come out after I've finished scrapping certain pictures and it would have been perfect, but I just have to let it go. LOL!

I love looking at all my books on my shelf. I feel so accomplished! LOL!

Ugh. Goals. I kind of feel like I could take the list of scrap goals I made for last year and copy-and-paste it here... since I got next to nothing done. (Except for my monthly Faves layouts, I am pleased with myself that I managed to keep up with that.)

I'm finishing up my first ever Holiday Faves album, done for the 2024 season. So that's my first goal.

Second is to decide how I want to handle my Faves this year; whether to do a monthly layout with a list of 10 plus a selife as I did last year, or if I want to use Kelly's adorable "Currently" template and cards to try something a little different.

Third is getting in gear with our family yearbooks. I've started 4 or 5 of them, but haven't finished a single one. <sigh>

I have PL 2012 half done - up to July - that somehow I just couldn't finish it
I wanted to give that up but I feel like I've done half and don't want that work will go wasted :D
maybe I should just print those and do it differently for the rest of that year..

I finished my Holiday Faves for 2024 a week ago and it felt good. Now I am determined to finish my daughter's 52 weeks baby album which I had been doing for 2 years! I have less than 10 pages to do, so fingers crossed I get it done before March comes.

I need to find money to print October and December 2024 because individual prints are MUCH more expensive than Shutterfly albums. What was I thinking?!?

I'm staying on top of my son's scrapbook although we need to do something new because I cannot have yet another Mario-themed page back to back to back. (He got several different Mario games for the holidays and will be getting Mario-themed versions of classic board games if my family ever reschedules the holiday party. Please no more Mario pages!)

We're probably going to Kennedy Space Center for his birthday again this year so another Kennedy / Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge album should be coming. I'm always super excited for the refuge because I get to scrap wildlife. Last year saw a bald eagle, roseate spoonbills, manatees, and even some far-off flamingos! In the pre-kiddo days, I was constantly shooting and scrapping wildlife and I miss it a little.

I'm hoping for a road trip for a medical second opinion and have detours planned en route so that would get an album too. Goodness knows if my husband drives, puts on an audio book of a story we both love, and leaves me to my own devices, I can take a million photos out the window.

I still want to do 2020 when all the crazy things happened around the lockdown, illness etc. Since I think it is a year which really need a book.

I also want to make a book for my weekend trip with Rosalie what will be heavy christmas themed lol.

Another project I want to start later this year is. I'm going to Paris with Lorena end of April. We also go to Disney for 2 days it will be 4th our first times in Disneyland sooo I'm really looking forward

My goal is to journal more this year....it's so hard for me to get it all down on paper.

I want to do more simplistic pages but I’ve tried & it didn’t workout for me so I’m rethinking my goal.. :(

I didn't even make a dent in my scrap goals for last year (life happened).

This year, I would really like to complete 2006 albums for my kids.

I have so much scanning to do. I would like to make some progress with that. I bought negative holders for my scanner in Advantix and 110 sizes, so that will help where I'm not just winging it.

Wow! That's awesome that you are going back and scrapping that trip! I too was wondering how you'd remember...I have such a bad memory!

So far my goals are to actually complete P52 for 2024 and 2025 (I didn't scrap last year). Now you've inspired me to go back and scrap my Bolivia trip from when I was 19...

I really want to get back into weekly pocket scrapping this year, but I’ve failed so many times it seems impossible. I don’t really have any other goals. Don’t get me wrong, I have plenty of projects, just nothing that I need to get done in a certain time frame.

I do want to get back to challenges though, just for funsies!
