Default pocket scrapping...

so i have decided to make my mom a book with all of her (7) kids and (13) grandkids in it and pocket style seems the easiest style for what i want to do. I would just do a few pages for every month rather than every week of the year I think though.

Please show me your favorite pocket scrapping supplies so I can start to gather stuff in preparation for this project!

I do mine monthly - just however many pages I need for the month (usually 4-5). Plus I do pages like that for books for my boys (10-12 pages for each year of their lives).

Traci has tons of good stuff, like her 365 Unscripted products. I use the plastic stitched grids all the time (especially #3 and #4 as you can fit lots of photos on them + I modify them to add more 'pockets' to a page). They come as a bundle too. I also use collage cards like this to fit lots of photos within one 'pocket'.

Her monthly Pocket Life packs this year are good too - I don't use them for the particular month though.

I also love Cindy's Layered Cards Collage Style and Layered Cards EVERYDAY as pocket fillers.

And then I just grab bits and pieces (cute elements, cards, word strips, etc) from various kits that suit the photos/story I'm telling.

Its fun, and gets addictive!

Traci has two really great freebies on her blog:

Free chevron 4x6 templates
http://tracireed.com/news/2013/04/cr...emplate-album/

Free rounded corner mat templates (just the rounded corner cards page templates, not the stitching)
http://tracireed.com/news/2013/01/fr...-project-life/

I use my regular kits for pretty much all the embellishing and rarely use the cards but I use a ton of templates. These are my favorite:

Cindys all in one words

I love that a lot of Cindys stuff comes in both 3x4 and 4x6 size

I will mention what others haven't.

I really love these temps by Kristin. I don't do true pocket style, but I did a whole clean-style book with them:

These by Janet could serve as well:

La makes collections as well, named [every day], at least she did until April, hehe:

My go-to is Traci's templates but for everything else I just regular kits. Most kits include a couple of journal cards and then I use patterned papers and Cindy's layered card templates for other spots. Then I just add embellishments from the kits. I love using all the fun kits I see to do pockets layouts.

I did all of last year's PL pages with Traci's templates that have already been mentioned and with Julie's pocket life templates, which are of course retired now. I just used a different kit for each week's pages, but since you aren't doing specific weeks or months I'd go with just using a different kit for each two week spread. Or you could use one kit for the whole month's pages, which is what I'm doing this year.
