Summer Games - July 9: Crazy Eights

Hey howdy Sweet Shoppers!

I hope you've had a lot of fun playing along with this year's Summer Scrap-a-thon so far and are excited for the fun challenges we still have in store for you!

Today's challenge is inspired by the classic game of Crazy Eights! Crazy Eights was one of the first card games I learned to play as a child and one of the few I could actually keep up with with my older brother and sister! It's now a family favorite with my own not-so-little girls! I'm sure some of you have fond memories of playing this game in your childhood as well!

July 9th: Crazy Eights

For this challenge you will need to create a new page where EVERYTHING on your page must be in increments of 8. You may create your page using whatever you like, but for every photo, element or paper you choose, there must be 8 of them in your layout and you must list your choices to help establish the connection between them. For example: In my page I've used: 8 photos, 8 music notes, 8 candles, 8 sets of leaves, 8 paper layers, 8 frames, 8 red flowers, 8 blue flowers, 8 gold flowers and 8 rolled paper flowers. Some of my items are identical (ex. the flowers) whereas some items are different varieties of the same item (different patterned papers or different music notes) but all are in increments of 8.

This challenge was particularly hard for me as I struggle to set limitations for myself or really make a plan when it comes to my scrapbook page. I usually just go with the flow and whatever happens happens! For this page I really had to think about what I wanted to use and where to place it in order to create the end result I was happy with!

Remember, there are NO SET DEADLINES for our daily challenges. YOU decide what you want to scrap, WHEN you want to scrap, and have the freedom to decide what prizes you want to earn or try to win. As long as you've met those requirements and updated our master tracker by September 2nd in the case of our grand prizes, or have this month's tracker updated by the end of July if you're trying to earn this month's 40% discount, you're golden!

Most of our prizes will be awarded in early September, so YOU have the freedom to participate when you can without missing out on any of the fun this summer!

They can be different patterns as long as it's 8 papers total. If you use more than that then you'd have to jump to the next increment of 16 papers total! Hope that makes sense!

I know the feeling! I stared at the screen for a long time trying to create my page and it is a template that I tore all apart until it worked for my needs!
