Default Titles - How do you do it?

Do you start your pages with a title in mind?
In what order would you say creating your title comes? Is it one of the first or last things you add to your page?

My only addition to this conversation is that I thought your thread title said titties at first. I need my morning coffee me thinks.

I tend to read title as titties too, Jenn. No amount of coffee changes that. lol

I never have a title in mind when I start a page ... I'm usually not even sure what photos I plan to use, lol.

I usually have title in mind or if not the actual title words I have an idea for how it will look on the page.

It's usually the last thing I do. I don't like titling; I feel like I should have clever, catchy titles but I can't come up with anything like that for most pages. So I put it off as long as possible. Once in a while I have a good title in mind, but usually those just come to me before I start the page.

It is the last thing I do. I have to make sure it will fit in the space I have left But I have been known to have a title first...but it is rare.

I am pretty much awful at doing titles. I often feel like they are contrived and not necessary to make my page meaningful. They're usually the last thing I think of, and by that time I haven't left room for one! LOL. I do love templates for this reason, the space for a title is already planned out.

I almost always know the title before I start a page. That said, it's usually the last thing I do on the page...

Usually titles come easy to me and I have it in mind when I create a page. I like titles because I feel like they are a "snapshot" of what the page is about before you even read the journaling, and they can draw you in and make you want to actually read the journaling.

Having said that, when making a page, I usually squeeze it in last.

I ponder it as I grab the kit and template and photos. I get the photos on and papers the way I like - all the while trying to decide what to put. I like to get the title on after that though - so I can plan for journaling and then add elements around all that. If I don't get the title early on, then I never will cuz I won't have room, or it will look off balance or something, or no room for journaling -- you get the idea (I hope lol)

It's the last thing I do. Very often, the title is forming while I put the layout together, especially in art journaling. I just go with my feeling.

Titles, 99% of the time, are the last thing I do. Usually I don't come up with a title until that time too. Sometimes I even have to rearrange things just to make room for the title...

I feel the same way. I don't necessarily think every page needs a title (or journaling for that matter). That's probably why those things are almost always afterthoughts for me

^^^ Pretty much all of this. I hate doing titles. I love word art for this reason. I've been known to not actually have a title too. I never have a title in mind when I start a layout and usually I have no idea what photos I'm going to use either... so titles would be the very LAST thing I do on a layout.

I usually add the title last, but sometimes I know what title I'm going to use when I start the page...and sometimes I don't. I pretty much never do a page the same way consistently, it all depends on what's inspiring the page (photos, kit, title, colors, template, etc).

If I have a title, it's the last thing I put on the page. Most of the time, the journaling and feel of the page make a title unnecessary for me, so I'll just skip it.

I'm a horrible tittier(sorry that's what I first read in the title and its afernoon here)... hehehe titler. Its always the last thing I do. Usually my husband helps come up with mine or I will go with any preplanned word art, in the kit or outside that I can. I often go with generic stuff cause I'm not often clever with titles.

Titles are one of the last things I do... but I must admit, I like titles much more than journaling. They drive me nuts.

So I once heard about an action on the digi show that will arrange your alphas for you? Anyone know anything about that?

I'm an odd one out here I guess, haha, because I love titles! It always puzzles me when people say it's what they struggle with the most because I really don't think about them much. I just go with what sounds and looks good to me.

I always sketch my layout design on paper first and room for a title is one of the items I always include in them, usually just the word "title" in the space I want the title to go. I don't actually add a title until about midway through, after my flat foundational elements are in place but before I start adding bulkier embellishments. But I love the challenge of finding the right alphas/type - much more than clustering flowers and such.

I love love love titles. A page is not complete without a title. It usually goes in roughly after I get the basics of the page, then I tweak after I add my ellies. Titles are my favorite part!

Normally I do not have a title in mind, I don't use super witty or creative titles though. My order is paper, photos, initial elements, title, finishing elements, journaling last.

Sometimes I have an idea for a title, but I usually wait until I'm almost finished with my page so I'm sure my title fits the final product.

My title is always last...I love when a kit has a word art that I can use as a title. Makes it easier on me and usually looks better. LOL!

Last thing I do... I have to have them. BUT, since a lot of my pages are doubles... there is a title on one side, so the other looks title-less.

Wow the last-thing-titlers really out-weigh the title-lovers! This is interesting to me because I always save my lo's using the title name, so I pretty much have to decide on a title by the first time I save the document. I think that just got me in the habit of first deciding on the title, which I mostly get from whatever the point of the story is for that page. I do agree though with those that said not every page needs a title (but I've still gotta name it something to save it!).

Titles are probably the hardest thing for me. Sometimes I forget to add them or I will just use a word art as the title. It is rare that I can just think of something good off the top of my head.
