New computer help

I'm getting a new computer, and I dread reinstalling Photoshop Elements 14, because every time I reinstall it, I lose my file organization. I'm careful to save metadata to my scrapping supplies when I apply tags, but when I move my files over into a newly reinstalled PSE, I seem to pull up only a fraction of the files I've tagged with a particular tag. Does anyone have any advice for the big move? TIA!

From what I understand, PNG files don't keep metadata. I could be wrong, but I stopped using the organizer because I got tired of this happening.

I also think tags break once they're in new folders. ??

Tags do break if something is moved to a new folder, but if she's just reinstalling and linking the same folder, it shouldn't break the link.

I don't know. I'm in the same boat. I just got a new computer and haven't even opened my Photoshop for fear of what I have to redo in order to get it up to par before our move.
