Default Home Decor/Crafty Project Blogs?

So one of my goals this year is to try and create things to make our house more of a "home" I want cute projects up on the wall and stuff like that.. there is one thing on ali edwards blog that I am dying to do - its taking an old type case and using it as a photo display.. anyways hook me up with other sort of similar crafty ideas for displaying photos or general stuff for art on the walls. TY!

I'll be watching this Kristin! What a great idea. Can you link us up to the idea on Ali's blog?

I really like the decor8blog. It isn't so much a "how-to" blog, but it does have some great inspriation in how to put together different items to decorate.

Oh I LOOOOOOVE this thread I know Colleen posted some a while back that got me all excited and then the Daily Digi posted some too. My Reader has grown like crazy and of course I just spend all my time drooling over them. Maybe sometime I'll actually take time to make something!

One thing I'm wanting to do is all the fun vinyl projects out there with the Cricut and SCAL software. I love all the beautiful sentiments applied to plates, big wood pieces, etc.

Colleen, is there an easy way to share links from Reader? Thanks!!!!

I don't know of an easy way, no. I just open them all up in tabs and then copy and paste.

Bower Power and Young House Love are friends, and I love both those blogs.
I plan to redo my kitchen cabinets to look like those at The Lettered Cottage.

What an awesome thread! I also love A Soft Place that Colleen linked because once a week she has a day where people like their best projects - I've gotten so many ideas!

http://todayscreativeblog.blogspot.com/ is one I really like as well.

I've been inspired to redo my kitchen by painting my cabinets white and replacing the counter tops with butcher block from Ikea. Now if my money tree would just bloom already!!

Kristin, you might find some inspiration cruising the Home Decor gallery at Splitcoaststampers.

Scrapbooks Etc. also has an online article with some goodies: http://www.scrapbooksetc.com/crafts/home-decor/.

I've been wanting to make some kind of "Pottery-barn-ish" bulletin board/message center for my kitchen? I was wanting to create a 12x12 frame like the Creative Memories one and have Misty's monthly templates in there, then have a bulletin board, maybe a chalkboard. But I was wanting to have one big frame around the "pieces" so maybe it won't look so junky (like we tend to do at our home)? Any inspiration out there?????

What a great thread! I'm going to be watching this one too!

It isn't overly exciting but I am going to get some of my favorite pictures printed out on canvas for the house. And I really one of these... but I am not sure which one yet. This one is funny for you paper scrappers out there: http://www.quotethewalls.com/store/Default.asp

These were two ideas I had saved. The first is a canvas by Ali E. I'm not sure who made the second but I know the frame is by 7gypsies.

Hi. I'm also interested in making my house into a home. I think I will find it more beautiful and comfortable when I remodel my place. Putting up crafts as decorations would be amazing! I'm still checking some suggestions in the internet. I never thought that finding the perfect decoration for my home would be this tough,

I have done tons of projects turning old items into something nice for the home or re-purposing items like the type box (that's something I'd love to do also if I can ever find one).... after we get to dig our stuff out of storage I'll have to take some photos to share some of the things I have done.... my favorite by far are my old windows that I turned into photo frames
