Default Gift Help

I have a niece who is about to turn 18. She loves music, loves playing guitar and piano, and isn't overly girlie.

We want to get her something memorable, but jewelry is out. Anyone have suggestions? It's been a long time since I was 18!

Kind of a wacky thought, but if she likes guitar, what about a ukulele? They are considered "cool" in some circles.

Is there a concert in her area in the next few months she might like to go to?

Maybe check Etsy for a guitar strap that would suit her style.

I would say a nice generous iTunes gift card, or a nice new set of headphones (something like these).

I third the guitar strap. Back when John was in a band they all got super excited over new things like that.

Yep, as the mom of a 16 year old guitar player, I can tell you that she specifically asked for a new guitar strap this year.

Thanks, everyone!!! The guitar strap is a great idea, but it was a little out of our budgeted price range for her. We ended up getting her a very pretty journal and pen set so that she could begin keeping the songs she'd written in a permanent place - and said it was her liner notes journal that she could start - so when she got her big break and had her first CD, she could use her liner notes and doodles to decorate the album But we passed on the guitar strap idea to Grammy who has a bigger budget for the grandkids for Christmas!
