Default What's for dinner tonight?

Here is a simple question for you:

What's for dinner tonight? We usually make something easy for the kids and do take out for ourselves on Sunday night. But since we went out last night I don't think we will buy take out again (I wish) so I need some quick ideas. I'm lazy on Sundays, especially when it's DSD!

I thankfully don't have to think of supper tonight... my husband braais (bbq) both Saturday and Sunday nights.... gives me more time to scrap! yippee!

But growing up we always did toast for Sunday supper... quick and easy. Sorry I can't offer more inspiration for you.

I'm making a sweet potato skillet chili for today, but I love soup for Sunday supper. Or popcorn, haha!

TURKEY DINNER!!!

It’s our Thanksgiving weekend (technically the actual day is tomorrow but we are doing it today so we can do the long drive home tomorrow).

I just made a huge batch of chilli in the crockpot (it's still morning here in Washington State.) We have a couple billet hockey players, so they eat a lot of food! I'll make cornbread tonight to go with our chili & all the fixin's.

I'm doing Canadian Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow for our hockey boys who are both from Manitoba. So I have some prep to do for that today.

Great question! We have nothing in the house because someone has ignored their duties of going to the grocery store and elected to scrap instead. I am not saying any names... but she is about to head out now. lol

I am guessing dinner will be taco salad with chicken. Something easy to throw together and we all love.

Thanks, Ally, for that awesome recipe! That looks yummy. Not going to make that tonight since it is still 80 degrees outside, but I will be making that in January. I love a new good recipe.

Sundays are usually something in the slow cooker, we're usually playing board games most of the day, but today, something with chicken, probably chicken noodle soup. We're so off our normal schedule with travel soccer.

I have no idea what we're having for dinner as three additional teenage boys just invaded my house. Is it bad to say I hope they're not staying? I don't think we have enough food in the house!

I had an Aldi frozen pizza that I am warming up right now. It's just me tonight and I worked all day so I am tired and this was good.

Oh my gosh everyone's dinner sounds so good. It's cold here today so chili sounds good. I think I may end up with a salad and sandwich. meh.

This happens in our house quite frequently! I have two teenage boys and they frequently have friends over and they can eat! Last night my son asked about 8 friends over for a campfire and smores. At least if they are at my house, I don't have to worry about them. Not that they are bad kids, but it's scary out there!

Usually, my husband gives me a break from cooking on Sundays or I'll make a big dinner. I'm so glad he cooked today! Chilli & cornbread!

Oh, your dinner plans all sound delicious! I'm an awful wife. I've got a migraine starting, and I'm super nauseous, so I suggested to my husband that he raid the fridge for leftovers or make himself a sandwich. Otherwise, my plan had been air-fried breaded shrimp and steamed veggies.

We ate out yesterday, at a new restaurant with a walking distance from home. It was nice for a change.

We ate out for lunch today at a steak house (just the two of us). Dinner was leftovers...or fend for yourself. The youngest has church till 7pm so he eats after church. I had a sandwich for dinner, hubby had leftover pizza that we picked up yesterday for dinner. Most Sunday's we go out for dinner while the kid is at church but sometimes we opt to stay home. We eat out way too much. Saturday it was out for lunch and dinner (we shopped all day while the kid was at a church function). I wish it was cool enough to fix chili...still feels a little warm here

LOL after spending all of Saturday and all morning Sunday on the computer I forgot to come check this thread!

So we ended up ordering pizza to feed the whole family but only to see that it would take an hour and a half to be done for pickup!! Tried calling to cancel the online order but I swear the people working there are all so dumb and ended up putting us on hold for so long only to end up being hung up on. So I told my husband I'd fix something quick for the girls and we will eat after they're in bed... our pizza tasted like soap! We shouldn't order from Domino's anymore I guess. They suck.

I am SO ready for chili! Unfortunately we're still in the 80s here in Dallas, so it's going to be another couple weeks before we get chili weather.

Question for the ages: in your chili - beans, or no beans?

Definitely beans!!

We had our Thanksgiving dinner on Monday this year. And last night I finally made the turkey stock so soup is coming probably tomorrow. Tonight we're having this: https://www.melskitchencafe.com/skil...0-minute-meal/. Yesterday, I tried this recipe and it was quite good: https://www.marionskitchen.com/super...beef-stir-fry/.

Seriously! I rarely have enough food in the house for the one teenage boy that lives here, let alone enough for three extra!

It's definitely one of the perks of living in one of the biggest capital cities in the world. We have florist, post office, restaurants and small convenient shops around our community. If I were better at my Chinese, I'd be going around the town more often as there are so many bus stops around us, but so far, I manage to know some of the destinations of those buses (better than Lan!) and wander around.
