Oh I feel you. My 3 year old is going through the terrible twos at the same time as my 2 year old. Now why my son couldn't go through them last year I have no idea.

HAR! Its just that we are so use to being adored... and then these little adoring being start talking back and having their own thoughts. Its the beginning of the end of all those warm fuzzies we got when we had newborns. I hear it comes back when your kids have kids and they realize you are human again. *sniff*
I have 3 and my oldest is 9. he told me I don't know what cool is anymore cause i live in an "old world". I long for the 3 year olds tantrum at this point.

I hear ya loud and clear! I have 2 yr and 4 yr old boys and just when one starts acting normal the other freaks out lol. And now we're thinking of #3; some days I'm on board with it and others I think to myself, "Am I crazy?!"

I hear you, Cooper is a little monster most days, and I don't know if he'll ever be potty trained. So glad I only had 2.

He turned 3 in March Laura, he's like 2 days younger than Cooper I think. Janet's little Katie is the same age as the boys too. LOL! We were all PG and on the Shabby Princess CT at the time, there was like 4 of us that had babies within days of each other.

Oh dear. This is bad news. My little guy will be 3 in July and we'll also have a NEWBORN. What were we THINKING???
Though, already we are getting a good peek what with the constant whining and random, unanticipated meltdowns over the most random things.

Oh no! My oldest started at 2.5, and at 7 I'm still waiting for an end to the backtalk and attitude. I'm never going to get my sweet little guy back, huh? DS2 was never as bad, but the circumstances were different and so is his personality. I'm dreading if DD goes through it.

So who knew? Yesterday I said, in a VErY sweet voice, "No, sweetie. You can't have cookies and milk for breakfast." And the tears ended like TEN MINUTES later. UGH.
Tylenol helps, though. Dope 'em up good, that's my theory.

I can honestly say that my oldest "turned around" at age 4 and started acting better. Hang in there. She was a BEAST at age 3.

Hang in their Kristin. It may seem like you are banging your head against a wall, but your efforts are getting through, it just takes awhile to see the result.
It's funny how different kids are. Three and 4 were the most difficult years with my son (so far). Now at 6 I'm starting to see glimpses of maturity, self-control and kindness emerging. I find myself thinking, "You are growing up. Imagine that." My daughter is 3 now and absolutely delightful. It's all skipping and laughter, cuddles and 'ok mama', 'I love you mama'. I keep waiting for the terror to start, but I think she may be saving it for her teen years. |

Yea! I must admit. He's different these days, but I tell everyone I'm blessed. He has very minor tantrums that are usually ended well with a hug and a reassurance from mommy that things are gonna be ok. I think it's still my same ol' same ol' "How did that infant get to be 3!" I love that he's an artist now. He makes me really proud especially when they attribute good charactaristics to good role modeling. Lol. I'm 25 and I like my fantasy happy world, and at 3 he helps me maintain it. :P For us 3 is about using our imagination.
And in his case, superheroes. He's soooo funny. He lovesssss superheroes, but half the time won't sit through a show, not for lack of interest, but because, "Ok, I not like this anymore. I don't like bad guys. Still love Batman/Supe'man/Cap'n 'merica/Spi-der-man"...etc so on so forth. Lol. Shame I'm not looking for a guy just yet, he's a great attention getter for nerds. (...which I happen to like, heh.) They love having superhero discussions with him and are always shocked to hear him mention the not as typical superheroes like Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Flash etc lol. LOL Angie - my DD has had an attitude since she was born - literally! She was born at 29 weeks and had attitude right from the get-go - it was heartening to see then, but now it is growing old Her brother was such a cool, calm, and collected guy all through his tween/teen years - responsible, good head on his shoulders, respectful.. *sigh* - I should have known it couldn't happen twice! To be fair, she is more headstrong and independent than disrespectful and once she learns to put her determination to good use she will be unstoppable - I just wish it wasn't directed at me 99% of the time

aw, come on Kristin, he can't that bad. lmao
You will survive 3, then 4, then 5, then 6 ... some days, I wish the 6 year old was still a baby, or a lot older. He informs me on a daily basis that it is HIS job to annoy me and everyone else around him. And he does a perfect job of it. Ugh.

My son will be 4 in June and it's getting better. I blamed some of the terrible 3s on having colds etc. this winter.
