Default New hack or old hint?

I am not sure if everyone else is doing this, and I am just new to the game, or if I just had a really GREAT idea to share with everyone!

Early April we drove an hour to see the Total Eclipse. I unfortunately left my phone at home (it was a hectic day with 4 extra people in our house on that day). So, I am waiting to get the photos from my daughter and my husband so that I can scrap them. Until that happens, I thought I would take one of the journal cards from Meagan's kit that I intend to use, and journal all my thoughts and notes from that day before I forget, and then just save it in with the photos so that when I actually get the photos from everyone, I am ready to go (and won't have forgotten all the details).

So, does everyone else do this and I just missed the memo? Or did I have a really great idea?! I don't know how long it will be until I get the photos (especially from my husband), so I don't want to forget it!

I use OneNote to record things.

One tab in my Scrapbooking notebook is "Layout To Do". Besides listing layouts that I think of in an odd moment, I have a pages with notes about photos. yes, One is "Solar Eclipse" since I live in the 100% totality area.

I have other tabs that relate to my program (Paint Shop Pro) tips and tricks, info about the scripts I use in PSP and tutorials available for the program. When I figure out how to do something that I might not do very often (like shadowing on washi tape), I create a page with the steps so the next time I do it, I've got it right there.

I just open the program automatically any time I scrap. Then I look up things if needed or put new things into it.

I used the notes app on my phone for our last Disney trip. Every evening when the kids and my husband got in the pool, I took a bath and would use the voice to text to jot everything down from that day. That was the first time I've ever done that and I'm starting to do it more.

I keep a daily journal that I refer back to. I like your idea a lot. By journaling on the card you know how much space you have to fill. Great idea!

I love your idea! I also use the notes app to record things that I want to remember. It's so easy to forget the little things.. and crazy how quickly that happens!

When on vacation, I use Keep Notes to record what we did. It helps jog my memory when I (finally) scrap the trip.

But if I were in your position and waiting on photos, I'd totally do what you're doing. Love the idea!

I usually have too much to say to contain it on a journal card! Ha!

I do keep folders with photos I want to scrap and will add a Notepad file with the journaling if there's a lot to remember or it's not immediately apparent why I want to scrap those photos.

I use Day One for journaling these things, and I also have started using Reba's system of putting the photos and journaling onto a template and scrapping it later. This wouldn't work when you don't have all the photos - but it's like half scrapped pages, and then when I come across a kit that would be great for it, i scrap it.
