Default My ds got in a little accident on the way to school :(

My boys are Johnny and Jake. I guess the boys had stopped at a gas station for some gum or something and when Johnny backed out he hit someone. Jake called me after they called dh who is helping them sort it out. The really crappy thing is that the guy he hit CAME UP TO THE WINDOW and started yelling at him and stuff. Can you imagine how scary that would be???? Jake said they're both totally ok, but Johnny is, understandably, shaken up. I feel so terrible for him!

oh my gosh, poor kids, that is scary. I do not understand why people can be so aggressive. It is called an accident for a reason, jeez. Glad it was nothing major though.

OH no... I hope things get resolve quickly and that guy would calm down. These days there's too many that are so easily angry like that guy... I don't think his yelling would turn back the time.

Jake said it left a dent, so the guy must've been driving past and Johnny hit the side. IDK. I'm just guessing. Still waiting for dh to call me with the details. It's driving me crazy! When Jake told me about the guy coming up and yelling he said, "He was acting like a child." LOL! Gotta love it when a 16 year old can even recognize child-like behavior.

Awww, that has to be the worst thing, I'm sure they already felt bad enough for the accident anyway. Crappy jerk!

aww I'm glad they were able to get a hold of you. I remember the first time I was in an accident and was yelled at and couldn't get a hold of anybody. At least they're in good hands!

That's awful. I just had my first accident ever last weekend, backed out of the parking space but didn't see a car coming cause of the sun. That car was driving way too fast, but still it was my own fault. The entire back of my car was smashed. I'm 31, but first thing I did after filling out the paper works was call my parents and cry.

I texted him and he said the guy calmed down after my dh talked to him on the phone and he ended up apologizing to him. LOL! So that's good. I'm really looking forward to him coming home. He doesn't like being touched, but he's getting a hug from momma.

That's what I would do!

That's stressful even as an adult and worse when people lose it. I'm glad it all worked out and that it wasn't serious. I still haven't gotten over the nerves of having a kid driving.

Ok, so I got the rest of the scoop from Jake after school (it was Johnny who was driving, Jake was in the passenger seat.) He said that the guy was REALLLLLY ticked off and cursing at them like crazy. Jake decided to stick up for his brother and started saying things like, "Hey, HE'S the kid and a new driving and YOU'RE supposed to be the adult." Then he, yes, my sweet son, called the guy an a$$.

Good grief. What kind of kids am I raising anyway? LOL! When Johnny got home I told him I was so sorry and gave him a big hug and told him that I was glad it was nothing serious, and he said, "What are you talking about? It was a huge ball of fiery explosion!!!"

I wonder if I can find a way to scrapbook this?

That happened to my friend in high school! He accidently hit someone who got out and started yelling at him. I was following and got out myself and told the guy to calm down. That wasn't too smart on my part.

I LOVE the huge ball of fiery explosion!!! And, I'll have to say...a MINOR fender bender can be a good thing when you are young. It scares you into driving better. So in a way this whole thing is good.

i would scrap it using a photo of the damage on your son's car, along with a stock photo of a fiery explosion to contrast what actually happened vs. what your son said later. lol. but seriously, glad they're ok and the guy eventually calmed down. i'm sure it was stressful for all of you.

OMG that is the best idea EVER! Plus, he took a photo of the damage to the guy's vehicle for insurance purposes. Bonus!

Glad everyone is ok!
And I agree with Lindsay! That would be a great way to document!
