Default Am I getting old....

or are the Grammys a wee bit over the top this year? Don't get me wrong, I love Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, and even a little country...but all of these performances seem frantic and insane.

Really? I was just mouthing off on FB about how sad I was for Stevie to sell out like that. My ears are still bleeding.

Yeah...I really like Taylor...she is very refreshing....but she was completely out of tune for almost that entire performance. As Randy Jackson would say, "you were a little pitchy dog".

I thought it was cute enough when Taylor was singing Rhiannon with Stevie because...well Stevie was doing most of the singing therefore it was more in tune. But for a 61 year old woman to be singing about high school was just odd...Stevie is HOT for her age, don't get me wrong...but it was and odd pairing ... that is such a dorky song IMO and I can't believe she sung it with her. Taylor's singing in and of itself, I don't really have an opinion about it NORMALLY but it was awful tonight.

LOL Susan...you must be alot younger at heart than I am....I haven't watched any awards show in years. I got tired of seeing a bunch of rich celebrities patting themselves and each other on the back.

well, i didnt really care for Stevie singing Taylors song, but i meant that it must have been neat for Taylor to sing with Stevie, lol. it wasn't the best performance but think about how Taylor must have been feeling singing with someone she admires and thats very well known!

Well I just was in a store the other day that was playing rap music, and as a human being, I was offended. "You musta had to jump up and down to get them things on." Seriously? I contemplated asking the workers if they had ever actually listened to the lyrics or if I needed to explain the lyrics to them in their language because I KNOW they would NEVER play a song like that here in this country in Malay language. Gag. Rap music makes me want to die.

I love all kinds of music, including mainstream and rap, but I never watch awards shows. It's always over the top, so I gave up on them a few years ago.

I was able to watch like 5 minutes before I had to turn it off... but I live in a radio area that likes more "normal" pop music, so our number one top 10 today's hits doesn't even play half those songs...(married to a radio guy... I know way too much about Arbitron and the art of radio programing... )... the other rock station that does play this music don't do that well in this area.

Well we tuned in when Lady Gaga with Elton John did their odd duet....it all went downhill from there. But we must be gluttons for punishment because we didn't change the channel. Like watching a train wreck. Just. can't. look. away.

I saw glimpses of it when the remote stopped long enough on that channel.

I felt sorry for the unfortunate person sitting behind Lady Gaga.

i know right? Hope it wasn't the dude's first awards show haha

Dh and I watched..it wasn't that bad really IMO lol....Taylor sounded terrible. She always has live for me..rather flat most of the time lol

and Beyonce grabbing her crotch..was just tacky and weird to me.

I liked Lady Gaga and Elton together..I'd totally go to their show in Vegas if they had one

Seriously. The last new music in my house was the Phineas & Ferb album. And I have been mostly listening to the Dead Kennedy's and the Pixies lately.
