Default Disneyland/DCA Planning

Hello! My family and I are planning on going to Disneyland/DCA this July. I've been watching so many YouTube videos and planning sites to seek tips. We are planning to use Genie+ and will be park hopping. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with Genie+ and have any strategies with it. I welcome all advice or even hearing your favorite things about the parks.

When you go in July, they will still be having Pixar Fest. They have the festival divided between both parks but my kids loved doing it. They have Amber and Wade doing meet and greets as well as Lucas and Alberto and some others. I also saw Anger is starting Meet and Greets on June 14.

I think I read somewhere else you are staying at the grand californian right? The best thing about staying on park is entering early at a side entrance before rope drop at the main entrance! We used that to go straight to the rides we knew we wanted to get on asap! There wasn't genie+ back then, but I'm sure other ladies will have more tips for that. We did DCA one day, DR one day & then hopped between the 2 on the 3rd day to re-do our faves or something we missed. Have SO much fun!

No genie+ tips as we are a bigger family and the cost doesn't work for us! But you will still have a great time! My daughter has an annual pass, and even with genie+ she still does single rider at Radiator Springs Racers. Some rides don't necessarily benefit for genie+, so check wait times also for standby lines.

Disneyland is smaller/easier to navigate in a single day than WDW Magic Kingdom. So because of that, it is easier to jump all over the park using genie+.

I'm definitely interested in seeing Anger and some of the other characters from Inside Out.

Yes! Super excited about being so close to the park at least for two of our park days.

I was considering do SR for RSR, but then I started thinking what if the ride breaks down and then my daughter (11) has to exit ride and evacuate on her own. That makes me nervous. I definitely don't won't to be ILL for it because we're already paying for Genie+ and don't want to pay more money for just one ride. I think we'll see if we can "rope drop" that ride on our Early Entry. I was thinking of asking a cast member if the ride is down or will be opening a little earlier so we can get in line for it.
