I had nodules on my thyroid and one was large enough that they decided to remove the thyroid altogether. When they took it out it was enlarged and turned out to be Hashimotos which causes inflammation and a host of other symptoms (all of which I had attibuted to my age-45). 3 yrs post surgery, I take synthroid everyday before bed and my levels are fine. The point is, don't worry until you have to. Be glad they saw the issue and have it taken care of. Hang in there.
