On a Mac you just get a plain blue folder as the norm. I like making my folders show the kit preview. I use the Image2Icon app and its just super easy to make the blue folder turn into the preview....

I just use image to Icons and do it myself it literally takes 2 seconds :) There are a few designers who do it but I'm assuming not all designers use Macs and are aware of this trick.
