We had time to fill before a dental appointment. My girls and I hung out at a local park by the lake. Any time with my girls is treasured, so I definitely don't consider it wasted time.

#14 - First loves. My son is super affectionate and always tells me how much he loves me... I thought this was a great prompt to scrap about him.

#16: Pour Your Heart Out... Focus on Journaling

Journaling is an incredibly personal and private component on my pages, so I usually tend to obscure the text. Some words are simply too painful to share with a large audience, but I strongly feel that getting them out there on paper and trying to release their negative energies are an important exercise and a valuable experience. I love that the power of the emotions expressed are still beautifully captured and felt on the layout, without fully exposing your vulnerabilities.

15: Paper Challenge - 10 Heart Shapes

I love creating paper shapes that make you venture out of the typical circle or square/rectangle shapes. Sometimes adding hearts, diamonds and hexagons really changes the look of a layout while adding a ton of creativity.

#12 Time you enjoy wasting, is not wasted.
Sometimes when we take a break from busy life and take off where there's bad phone service and lots of downtime it seems like so much wasted time that we could be doing something productive. But in the grand scheme of life, it's the time we enjoy the most.

#20 What brings you joy

This kit was perfect for this challenge and for what I wanted to scrap, as it's always the simplest things in life that bring me great joy, like watching my kids enjoy themselves playing, and growing up right before my eyes!

#4 Chunky and Thick Alphas
I saw this alpha in Captivated Vision's Live Your Dreams kit and knew it would not only be perfect for this challenge but also perfect to balance out the photo on the left side of the page.

#17 Pile Up: Use at least 5 photos

Whenever the boys are doing something extra, it seems like I have tons of pictures. The easiest way to scrap them, without having a million pages, it grabbing one of Cindy's multi-photo templates and scrapping my favorite photos on one page!!

#8: Selective Coloring. The easiest way to get rid of a distracting background is to convert it to black and white. You can convert the entire photo to b/w, but sometimes I like to keep the color in my main subject and just convert the background.

13 Date Night... on date night, my husband is more attentive in making sure he always opens the car door for me... it's a sweet action that I appreciate.

I don't have a lot of memories from my own childhood, so I scrapped a turning point in my, then youngest, life-when her daddy told her he was leaving the following day to go overseas. Looking back, it shaped who she is today almost 10-years later.

My story is about my uncle who tried to find a new home for Yoda, the dog of the daughter of my mom's co-worker who is in hospital because she wants to commit suicide and cannot take care of him anymore. My uncle has a pug of his own, but couldn't take in another dog even though he wanted to. In the end, he did find a new home for Yoda.

This photo is from the day of the concert. We were just hanging out in the morning and early afternoon. I tried to play with the word strip which said "do not disturb" but instead I made it "Do disturbed" as the band's name we went to see is Disturbed :)
