So over the past couple of years I have learned that I really have everything I NEED and pretty much everything else is just a “want”. I went from working full time to be unemployed to back to working full time. In the timeframe I learned how to really cut out some spending and manage on my retirement, Matt’s income and my unemployment. It was very hard, but I learned that I didn’t need a new camera, the kids didn’t always need every new movie that came out, we didn’t really need anything more than basic cable and we cut out a few other bills that we realized where a waste of money. We also got on a budget plan for our utilities where we pay the same amount every month and that really helped us budget. So in the big scheme of things, as long as my kids have everything they need to get through school be feed and clothed than it is all good. Everything else is just an added plus! I learned some hard lessons over that 11 months before I was employed again and came to realize that if you set your mind to it, you can get by with the just the things you “need”! So for today, Matt & I are not only able to provide for everyone’s needs but also enjoy in some of our “wants” as well!
