over thirty years of my life, i have spent
as a figure skating coach or a skater. it is
everything i wanted to be. i have always loved
the sport, loved the competiton. but after
years of coaching and having disagreements
with parents over who knows best, i finally
had to say goodbye to the sport i love, because
of everything i'd been through. i hold much
resentment toward those people, they took
all of the joy out of something i loved
my entire life, and made it into something
i no longer wanted to do. my skating was
part of my soul, what defined me, and by
saying goodbye to it, i said goodbye to myself as well.
