Journaling: Fall 2006. Adam and I were in Tokyo, japan for our official honeymoon trip. The weather the first two days was perfect. Then the typhoon hit. It apparently just skimmed the area we were in but you could have fooled me! The morning of our flight, we decided to take a bus tour figuring it would be an easy way to see a bunch of sites without a ton of walking in the pouring rain. Boy we’re we wrong! Each stop involved at least a half mile walk. Umbrella’s were flying everywhere, jeans were soaked. By the time we got to the Imperial palace, half the people on the bus didn’t even bother getting off. But we sure did and we have the photos to prove it! By the time we made it back to our hotel we were beyond soaked. Our tour ran late so in order to catch our airport shuttle, we didn’t even have time to change. Luckily the hotel staff told us we could easily catch an express train to the airport which is what we did instead. It all worked out but boy was it a crazy end to our trip!
Mini journal bits:
(Bottom) - The elusive Imperial Palace. It probably would have been a lot cooler minus the crazy crazy rain and wind. But at least now we can say we’ve been there AND have a story to tell about the experience!
(Bottom left) - Adam and I each took turns jumping out in the rain to get into the photo. Poor Adam’s photo is totally blurry thanks to how hard I was physically shaking from being so cold and wet. But at least we can sort of prove we were there!
(Top left) - Adam’s face here really says it all. This was the point of the “hike” that we started thinking that maybe those who stayed on the bus were a bit smarter than we were.
(Top) - A small portion of our bus tour group who braved the weather. This poor girl in front of us had her umbrella flipped inside out by the wind.
