In the 50's money was not as free as it is today. Treats were not common and far between. Thus it was always a huge treat when our church would give each child a whole box of Russell Stover candy after the children's performance on Christmas Eve. I also enjoyed the drive home because we would pass a house decorated in all blue lights. I thought it was so pretty and unique since most houses had multi-colored lights.
