Once upon a time there was a family who didn't have a dog. Now this family had plenty of pets over the years: cats, rats, birds, fish, and an adopted hamster. No dog, though. The boys were sad. They wanted a dog. The mom was sad. She wanted a dog, too. The dad was perfectly content with his cat and fish, though, so the family didn't get a dog. Then the Army sent the dad to Iraq and the dad said he didn't want to come home to a dog. Of course, the mom and boys fell in love with a puppy while the dad was away. On Easter Sunday, the older son took a picture of the mom with the puppy and the mom sent the picture to the dad asking if the family could keep him. After some conversation, the dad said yes and they are no longer a family who don't have a dog.
