Journaling:
My original plan when I learned we'd be moving to New Mexico was to find
the shortest and fastest route and then head out, getting there as quickly and
safely as possible. I don't know what changed my mind. Maybe it was
browsing my bucket list. Maybe it was the thought of living so far from the coast.
I don't know, but I do know that it struck me like lightning: if I have to move south,
why don't we travel as much as possible down the coastal highway! And then I
began researching. I wanted stopping points along the way. Fun ones for
both me and the kids. Lighthouses were a must. And I wanted to be able to
stop and stretch my legs whenever I wanted, all the while dipping my toes in
the water. I wanted the boys to play in the ocean as much as they wanted. I
wanted them to see sights that were breathtaking, making the long journey
enjoyable and not just boring. Lighthouses, coastal towns, Avenue of the Giants,
Boulder Dam and the Grand Canyon. All of those and a few others were on
my list. We did a lot of them. A few others had to be postponed for a later
trip since unforeseen issues arose mid-trip. In the end, our move to New Mexico
created lasting memories that the boys and I can treasure for years to come!
I love your journaling and layout - this is how my DH and I look at going from point A to point B - using the longest and more scenic route there... lol. :)

Great story! Love the photos of all of you and the embellished paper pieces on the edges.
