Journaling is about my son and his Autism Spectrum Disorder -
Recently I came across a blog post
at Hopeful Parents, where the
blogger that day talked about
a project she was working on.
She is putting together a video
of special needs parents answering
the question, “What would you say
to the parent you were the day
before your child was diagnosed?”
What she asked was for parents
to answer the question on a sheet
of paper and photograph yourself.
These photos will become the video.
I knew the minute I saw the
blog post that I had to participate.
Oh how I wish I could go back to the
Erin I was three years ago before
the diagnosis. I’d tell myself that
it will be OK - that we’ll get
through this - that I am stronger
that I know. But the truth is
I can’t go back to that Erin. So I
have to focus on today and keep
on keeping on! I have to put my all
into this and do whatever it takes -
fighting every step of the way, to
get Trevor the help he needs. I will
never surrender...
