Journaling: I was named for my grandmothers.
My first name is my paternal grandmother’s last name. Laurel is most commonly related to the Bay leaves of the same name. In ancient Greek times, they were woven into rings or wreathes as crowns for the Olymnic game winners or victors. So now the name is synonymous with Victory.
My middle name is a derivative of my maternal grandmother’s first name. Anne means Grace in Hebrew. It is the anglicization of "Hannah". Which is really ironic as I am not particularly graceful.
