My mom loves The Sounds of Music and decided to name me after Maria von Trapp. I used to hate it when I was small because a name like Maria automatically reminds people of a super well-behaved girl and I was a very bubbly little girl who climbed on fences and ride bicycles with one hand. I made my peace with the name, now I think it's not such a bad name at all :)
