I love this blurry old photo of my grandparents on their anniversary. Grandpa is just beaming with pride and Grandma is smiling and blushing like a young bride. It is wonderful to see them like this, to have this memory to hold on to and share. Grandma died when she was 54. I wish I had been closer to her. I wish I had taken the time to ask her about her childhood, her dreams, her heritage. Fortunately I had more time with Grandpa. I loved watching him with my son and hearing his stories. I wish I had asked to hear more of them. I wish I would have been wise enough to appreciate them more while they were still here.
