journaling:
I love looking at old pictures. It leaves me with with an almost awe-like feeling to see lives captured on film from a time before I was even born. This picture of my grandparents was taken not long after they were married in 1947. I look at this photo and get a glimpse of how different American culture was 75 years ago, and I can't help but wonder what it was like to be alive then. And I look at my grandparents, who I obviously didn't know until they were much older, and they look so young! What were they thinking? What were their dreams? Their aspirations? How different were they then from their older selves that I knew? Photos like this leave me with so many questions! The funny thing is...maybe one day my grandkids will find old pictures and will sit around wondering the same things about me.
