Journaling (I struggled with how to explain why we were in the hospital since it was due to placenta abruption and there was a lot of bleeding and I didn't want to be graphic in the LO):
I feel so lucky to have you here, healthy and happy. In February of 2009, I was listening to the radio at work
and they had a telethon on for the Children's Hospital at the hospital you were born at. Parents were
telling stories about their children. Children who had been born premature, were very sick or had even
died. I spent most of the day crying. Crying for the children and the parents on
the radio and crying for our short time in the hospital. It made me realize just how
lucky we are. September 16th, 2006 was the scariest night of my life. Ending
up in the hospital, thinking you would be born premature, hoping that the problems, I
was having would not cause you to be hurt. When I think of all that could have
gone wrong that night, I feel so blessed. It could have been so much worse. Now
here you are at two and a half, healthy, happy and
loved. We are lucky to have you.
