My thoughts about my son's very favorite thing in the whole wide world.
Journaling reads:
I love the Thomas the Tank Engine stories, They have decent plots and teach values without
being too heavy handed. The animation is fine, the songs are catchy.. We can find the
DVDs at both libraries & video stores, giving us a nice collection to choose from. They are on Sprout a couple times a day for me to record. The boys act out the stories with their own
trains from the Take Along set and make up new ones as they play. Best of all, the movies
hold the boys' attention, so I can make dinner or take a shower or scrap.
I don't like the Thomas the Tank Engine stories. Who would be willing to risk their life on that railway? Engines are always crashing or playing tricks on each other. It just isn't safe. The songs drive me nuts after a bit. The DVDs are very popular & are all checked out half the time, making Derek cry with grief because he can't watch Thomas. They keep coming up with new trains & machines, so the boys are always asking if we can buy the new characters, despite having over two dozen trains now. Dragging them away from the TV to eat dinner or leave the house is a big challenge.
