Graduation Card for my niece

Thanks to the inspiration of Geordie Girl...my niece gets a homemade graduation card.

I learned a lot of Photoshop techniques with this card. The grad girl in the kit did not come in this color gown. I had to cut the boy's face out and the girl's face out...paste and rotate the girl's face...cut the hat and tassel out and paste on top...and use the paint brush to paint back a black outline. I then merged the layers.

I had to stroke the outline of the person in white...and then duplicate the whole new layer in all white, flip it upside down, and attach under the original layer to make a foldable card. I then merged the layers. I used the stroke function and used black to give me an outside cutting line for the card.

I printed the card and cut out leaving a tab on the top and bottom of the card. I then used a craft knife to cut the top of the hat and folded the card. I cut an extra strip of paper and attached to the folded part of the bottom of the card to make the card stand up. I cut out the greeting and put inside the card.

I folded a $50 bill in half lengthwise and rolled up tightly. I then cut a strip slightly wider than the money and about 1 1/2" long. I wrapped this paper around the bill and taped shut. I took some fiber to match the gown and tied around the diploma and adhered to her hand. This made a 3D card to put on the graduation table!

This turned out really cute! Love the money holder - as long as she looks in her little diploma! ;)
