I loved playing with Mom's good ceramic nativity set. She allowed this as long as I was careful. I'd re-enact Mary and Joseph heading off to Egypt to hide with baby Jesus, carefully moving them around behind a chair in the living room. Once one of the three kings was decapitated in a play session. Ooops! Mom didn't freak out too much, and simply super glued his head back on. You can hardly tell, even at close inspection. 35 years later, the same nativity set decorates the top of her piano at Northridge during the Christmas season.
