JOURNALING: The inaugural MLS NEXT PRO Champions, Columbus Crew 2, hosted the new England Revolution II in their 2023 home opener at Historic Crew Stadium on April 16. After unveiling their championship title shield, the players took the field. We were very surprised with the lineup because we had seen a number of the men on the pitch just the night before at the Columbus Crew game!! We're still not sure just how the two teams operate together, but there sure was a lot of overlap Sunday. Crew 2 beat the Revolution II by a score of 3-0. Captain Isaiah Parente started the scoring in the 7th minute, assisted by Russell-Rowe. Just 10 minutes later Jacen Russell-Rowe would score his own point with an assist by Yaw Yeboah. During the second half, Marco Micaletto went in to replace Yeboah and tallied the final goal in minute 81, assisted by Coleman Gannon.
