I am writing this at just about the time Matthew is eight and Martha is a few weeks away from turning three. A couple of years from now I will be having a teenager and a grade schooler. A couple of years from now the clutter of toys and books in the living room will be replaced with teenager clothes and thicker school books. A couple of years from now our rather king-sized bed will feel empty because they will not be camping in our bedroom and sleeping with us. A couple of years from now I know I would feel no longer needed. So I am taking advantage of these years as much as I can. Because for now, I am THE Mommy. And THE Mommy is the hero, the one who can do everything.
