In mid-October, we went to the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix to see the Monarch Buttefly exhibit. Macy seems to enjoy them, so I thought it would be fun for her to see them up close. We arrived right when it opened and hiked some of the trails. We saw many plants and flowers, plus a variety of cacti. Macy fell down about 8 times, played in the dirt, threw some rocks and got wet. She spent the last hour in her diaper. In the exhibit, she was a little hesitant about approaching the butteflies, but then she got close and tried to touch them. They flew all around and would land near us-so close we had to watch our steps. Afterwards, we hiked some more and Chris got to pound mesquite pods into flour-yes-we tasted it. We saw a frog in the pond and had a snack and I bought some gifts. It was a great family activity!
