Journaling:
After the car was fixed, we continued south. And unfortunately, the weather
only got hotter and hotter. Soon we were in the Mojave Desert and the temperature
sky-rocketed into triple digits. Since the car didn?t have any AC, I made sure we
stopped about once an hour to get some more water and to cool off in whatever gas
station I could find. Once, a nice lady let us cool off in the freezer. That was awesome!
Another time, I got the kids ice cream in addition to the water. It was quite telling
when the boys grabbed the water and chugged it down before ever taking a bite
of the ice cream. It was a tough couple of days, but eventually we made it through
