Journaling: I thought it would be fun to take the kids to the Apple Orchard out Congo, but when we couldn’t find it, we turned down Apple Drive. Seemed like a good place for an apple orchard. But it wasn’t. When we came to the gravel road, Dad, the County Judge, said, “You don’t drive down unpaved roads in the county; turn around.” But we kept going...until the guy started heading our way with the shotgun. Mom backed up as fast as she could, but he never stopped walking and never took his eyes off of us. Max was in the back saying what we were all thinking, “I don’t want to be dieded!” Once we turned around, the guy with the gun stopped walking, but we didn’t stick around to find out what else he might have done that day! And we never did find that apple orchard.
