I didn't understand love like this until the first time I looked into your face. I have loved you from the moment I held you in my arms, though I had held you in my heart for years before. It was in that moment that life came full circle. I knew what I had been put on this Earth to do...the reason I had been born..to be a mother, your mother. I wasn't truly alive until that moment in time. I existed, yes, but as a woman, not as a mother. I hope you never forget how much I love you. I would give my last breath so that you might know the beauty of life.
It is my hope that one day, when you are grown, with babies of your own, that I will still be the one you call, the safe place you run to. I hope that I can teach you to live life fearlessly, knowing that you have a God who loves you more than even I do and that He will let you dance through this world...even when it's not kind. I hope that if you remember nothing else from your childhood that you remember laughter.
