Journaling: Our daughter & her family came for a visit. Our 7 year old granddaughter prefers her water cold
or with ice. Their refrigerator at home looks similar to the one on the left above. As an independent
young lady she's used to getting her own water & ice from their refrigerator door water & ice dispensers.
Our 35+ year old refrigerator looks like the one in the middle above. As you can see there are no water
& ice dispensers in its door. Our daughter grew up in this house with this refrigerator. So she knew that
we had ice cube trays and an ice cube container in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator. When
they used up the ice in the container, she knew to dump the ice out of the trays & refill the trays
with water. Our granddaughter had never seen anything like this. I can still hear her incredulous voice,
"They make their own ice cubes???"
