Journaling says:
New year, new teacher, same school. Maggie moved up to the 5th/6th grade class this year and got to know Mrs. Willis & the 6th graders who weren’t in her class last year. She was glad to see Alyssa again &, as the year progressed, made a new friend in new girl, Abi. Once again, Maggie did a spectacular job academically & seemed to really enjoy herself this year. Mrs. Willis never had anything but praise for Maggie & was always impressed with her work & abilities. I was impressed with how well all the kids got along together without cliques or leaving anyone out. As a 5th grader, she got to participate in the science fair for the first time and put together a great report on the stages of pregnancy. It certainly helped that Mom was 6 months pregnant, so she had a great resource! She also gave another brilliant performance in the school talent show. This year, she chose to sing “What If” by Nichole Nordeman and it was simply breathtaking. Next stop? Becoming a middle schooler in the 6th grade. EEK!
