Weekend Warm-Up | LCW with a Twist - Win a $25 Gift Certificate!

It is one of my favorite parts of summer :) I hope that when he is grown, he will feel the same.
He sure will, one day! If I look at my daughter, she really has fond memories spending her wednesday afternoons at my parents'. It created a bond between them that's still strong. And it's vice versa as well. I still think my father enjoyed being a grandfather more than being a parent. Simple things like playing a card game and keeping track of their wins/losses is a core memory.

We had donut day yesterday, June 5. We did go to a bakery that has the best donuts, but got something else. They did their versions of Joe Louie, Flakey and Ah Caramel - they were so good!

f I don't have to use every word and every method of scrapping just once.
This is me. I look at the methods and just 'nope' if there's too many that I struggle with or just don't care for the style. It's totally cool, I don't worry about it, Challenges are supposed to be a challenge, and fun.
I know I ended up hating the clock page I did for a challenge here last year, so I do not want to attempt one again! In fact, I think that's the harder part for me. If I remember getting frustrated or struggling, I can see it when I look at the page. Or, I'll think oh yeah, I had to do this page for that challenge instead of remembering the story first. 😆

I've come to the conclusion that just like books and movie are the same story told different ways, my challenge layouts and my regular scrapbook are often the same story told different ways. And that has made it easier to do challenges, especially ones that don't align with my personal scrapbooking goals. Or, highly modify the page after it meets the challenge criteria. I do that for the Summer Challenges often because I like to play along to keep me scrapping. But it's not worth the effort for the monthly challenges usually.

This is good advice!

That's what I do as well. I modify my page for my personal album after I posted it to meet the requirements for a challenge.

What is everyone up to this lazy Sunday morning? I've mostly been just sitting and doing nothing much for several days now since getting home from my 6 weeks with the grandkids

I've been thinking about the next summer excursion coming up in a couple of weeks a lot, trying to learn about a place we haven't been to before and make some sort of a loose plan at least. Honestly the planning part of a trip is what I find the hardest these last few years. That's probably a big part of why I like Disney trip so much lately - it's mostly familiar and doesn't have a lot of unknowns, but there are still new things to experience and do too. Everything is just so exhausting these days, I just don't want my vacation to be exhausting too, especially not before I've even gone on it.

@mmbstaley I've always hated the planning part of vacations. Vacations shouldn't feel like a job.
I'll be baking cut out cookies today and decorating them tomorrow to look like disco balls for an upcoming party. I'm having a hard time getting motivated, though.

Yes, motivation is lacking for sure here too this morning (well really all weekend LOL)

Hello! Trying to carve out some time to be here and scrap some more now that summer is close and our schedule calms down. I have been struggling extra with my health lately and sooo looking forward to school being out for summer. 2 more weeks for us in Norway. I really wanna join the fun here!

Haven't found any scrap time yet today. I had a baby shower for my new grandbaby that will arrive in the next month and then had to take care of some other family stuff and now going to go for a walk with the family. Maybe this evening after dinner I can carve out some time to complete a page? It is one of my fav things to do to unwind on a Sunday.

Miss you hope you feel better and get some recovery time now that it's less hectic

@Robin Carlton I also struggle with the new challenges, I feel the same as @Romajo and other ladies. The connection choice is not easy to me and I really struggle with the technique part. Most of the time, I feel like I can't really scrap what I want OR need because of this. Lol. The prompts are open enough but the techniques are not to me. I admit this is not my fave challenge system even if of course it let me go out of my comfort zone.

Thank you 🥰 Summer is usually better for me. I think it's funny, because I saw someone say that now that's summer, they will no longer have time to scrap. I am the opposite, lol. Using all my energy on packing school lunches, extracurriculars and sports, helping with homework etc. Summer means most of those things stop, so much more energy left to do whatever I (and we as a family) want to do.

I need some templates with a lot of photo slots. Any ideas?
I have Cindy's retake 1 through 10, but I need something new ;) Preferably a pack of them

things have been crazy .... again lol but this time in a good way
we are buying a house closing on Friday
I'll finally have a proper place to scrap again, a laptop on my bed just sucks
Hubby is getting me a nice new PC and desk to work on and a whole spare room for my other crafting projects

I might like planning vacations more than I like doing the things I planned 🤣🤣🤣

Hi ladies! I have been away from scrapping and forums for a while. Hoping to jump back in. My favorite type of scrapping is Project Life. I do my own version using regular kits and both templates I have purchased and/or have made myself. I also have a list of other type of pages I need to start on including my breast cancer journey from 2024 to current. I am cancer free now but have lingering side effects from the treatments. I know scrapping is therapeutic for me, so it is long overdue.

Question for you all- What is your favorite set up for scrapping? I have a laptop I use. My old laptop was 21 in Sony Vaio. It became obsolete and no longer supported for the windows it had loaded. About 2 years ago, I upgraded to a HP Spectre laptop that is 16 in. Problem is I miss my 21 in laptop especially getting older and now my visual isn't as great as it used to be. I have worn glasses since before the age of 1. I like to scrap from the couch or recliner while watching TV.

So, with that being said, I would love to know your set up for scrapping especially if you are older.
