Signs of Spring

For me, the first truly joyful sign of spring I see or maybe I should say hear, each year is birds coming back and chirping up a storm. I sit inside just 6 feet from my feeder on the deck and adore watching who comes. I have a suet hanger in the winter months and regular visitors to it include a pair of downy woodpeckers and a pair of northern flicker woodpeckers. Until our rainy season in Oregon passes I also sprinkle seeds on our deck railing for all the other birds.
Past snow melting away, what first sign of spring each year brings YOU happy glimmers?

Spring is such a strange season here..... I always feel as though we get multiple springs because we seem to have - melting snow, snowstorm, melting snow, snowstorm... repeat :P

however, to answer your question, likely walking in the evenings when it's still light out is a happy glimmer for me :)

woodpeckers would NOT be a happy glimmer for me - they are so loud :O lol

I love seeing all the beautiful flowers on the trees in the spring. We drove along a road in Nashville that is known for all of the cherry trees. I love to see cherry trees as they blossom! I also love to see all the daffodils and other spring flowers. Our weather here is also a bit crazy as we had some mornings into the 20's last week and yesterday had the high in the 80's. They say if you don't like the weather to stick around because it will change! :)

We don't get true spring here but it definitely feels like spring when I see ducklings. (It's currently 80 out and I'm dreading what August will feel like.) There's also a ton of pollen for seasonal allergies so I guess more things than usual are flowering?

Maybe my banana tree flowering is 'spring' but it technically flowered in February.

The return of the birds, one morning I wake up and it's just so loud with birds cooing, tweeting and yiping and I know spring is here

The pear and cherry blossoms that bloom along the pathways to anywhere. I love that the government planted so many of those trees not just in the big parks, but also in the smaller community parks, playgrounds and along the streets. It makes spring soooo pretty here.

I also love the fact that I wake up to blue sky at 6am and pick Michelle up from school at 5pm where the sun has not set, instead of feeling like getting up at night and picking Michelle in the dark...

The cherry blossoms are at their peak right now here in the Portland, Oregon area.

They are still sporadic here. Yesterday, on the way to the subway, I saw a few young trees that have started to bloom some but not all flowers. The one that Michelle's school has is already dropping their flower petals yesterday when I picked her up.

Well in WI orange barrels every where because construction is starting up again does not give me joy... lol. I'm just happier with that it's still light out when I get out of work!

Waking up with the sounds of chirping birds, that little ray of sunshine...I do love
the nature a lot, but I have hayfever...so yeah. But birds for sure, I uploaded a
layout this weekend with your kit and the first birds in our garden ;)

Bluebonnets! Nothing is prettier than the swaths of open fields covered in bluebonnets. It looks like God spilled a can of vibrant blueish-purple paint all over north and east Texas. They're one of our earliest wildflowers to bloom, and they only last until sometime in April (if we're lucky).

I was so excited the other day to see one of my neighbors seeded the front portion of their property - their bluebonnets are darn near 3 feet tall!

The Spring sign for me is daffodils too (and totally relate with pollen too @karlimarie 😭).
This year it was hot too early and the daffodils bloom too early. Now it's a mix of spring day and rainy days with cold like winter so nature is confused too.
Spring is also the season you never have the right coat!😄

I love the daffodils that come up and then they are shortly followed by the azaleas.

Ohhh, I love daffodils! When I was in elementary school, we lived in Northern Virginia and Mom planted bulbs in the postage-stamp-size front yard of our military quarters. They truly are one of the first signs of spring, and their bright, happy faces always made me smile. They just won't grow here in Dallas <sigh>...

There's this joke that we have like 3 springs mixed in with a few more winters- We just had 2nd winter with snow march 13th- so now I think we're in the Spring Deception season! ;) I have daffodils blooming (may favorite flower!!!) and just put out the hummingbird feeder. We might still get some cold nights, so I haven't put out the pots for flowers yet, but we did just do a garage/yard cleanup. That's always the 'end of winter/beginning of spring' task for me. We put away all the snow gear- so it'll probably snow again, but murphys law & all! I love when everything greens up & the flowers start to bloom!

Taylor went to college in Eugene, the highest grass allergens in the country. Yup, she is allergic to grass.
