You ladies are always a great help in figuring things out. I'm hosting a bridal shower for my sister on Sunday afternoon. We're having it at my mom's house. The only theme I have going is that I'm trying to do everything in pink.

How does this menu sound? Is this enough?

Mimosa bar and wine bar (champagne and white wine) OJ, Mango Juice, Blueberry Lemonade and Cranberry Juice, strawberries, blueberries, peach slices and raspberries.
Water and a variety of sodas

Assorted wraps (I ordered a small tray from a local grocery store).
Turkey and avocado sandwiches on fococia bread

Chicken Salad (I'm looking for a recipe and I'm wondering if I should serve it in a little cups with lettuce or on white bread as finger sandwiches)

Strawberry Salad (mixed greens, strawberries, red onion, feta and a poppy seed dressing on the side) I am putting these in the clear cocktail Chinette cups.

Fruit and cheese tray with crackers

Baked Brie - one of the bride's maids is bringing

Pesto shrimp served cold (or should I do a mix of hot appetizers I can get from Costco?)

For dessert we have Amaretto cheesecake, brownie bites and little cupcakes.

For favors I did little white bags filled with a variety of Hershey kisses. The bags are rolled down and then tied with pink ribbon.

Games -
Who Said This - I read questions the bride and groom answered and then the guests have to guess who said it. I made mustaches and lips on sticks for them to hold up to show their guess. The bride's maids will keep score.

Dress the bride - three teams get tissue paper, toilet paper, white garbage bags and tape to dress the smallest person on their team like a bride.

I need one more quick game to play when everyone gets there.

What do you think? Did I forget anything? We'll of course have time for the bride to open gifts and for my mom to offer her a toast.

This sounds absolutely lovely.

You will probably want a pen/notebook for someone to jot down present/giver's name. It is easy for cards and gifts to get mixed up as they are being put into a car. Makes it much easier to write thank-yous.

Speaking of thank yous. If you have time it would be nice to have all of the thank you envelopes addressed ahead of time for the bride to make it easier for her to get done (especially if you have the list from sending invites). If all of this was done online, I'm obviously showing my age...but I think a hand written thank you is always nice.

One thing I was asked to do at a baby shower (and would work for a bridal shower) is to take a photo of the bride with each of her guests. I then had doubles made. One was sent to the guest with the thank you. One was put in a time capsule (which might also be a fun activity for the guests to participate in). Each guest brings something to add to a time capsule. The couple could open on their 25th anniversary.

okay. seriously. this sounds like your sister is wholelotta super-duper lucky!!
because that is an insanely wonderful amount of work!!

I got married at the Graceland Chapel in Vegas and was all like...
here's some booze, there's some cake... have a chat, make some merry and then let's all go hit the strip.

it was totally upscale and classy... in a Vegas Escort sort of way ♥

OMG - you made me snort laugh out loud. I love you!!!

The fun part of this is that this is the second shower I've thrown for her. The first was a month before she called off the wedding - but it was the BEST decision she ever made. The guy she is marrying in March is absolutely amazing and this time I'm so happy for her.

Sounds great!

Use this chicken salad recipe.

I do mine pretty similar, I use pecans instead of almonds & I don't use dill. My measurements might be a little different, I always get tons of complements on it

Thanks Vanessa!

Now I'm scrambling to find a place that makes Amaretto cheesecake. My mom said she'd handle it and ever place she called doesn't make it. I really don't have the time to make it myself but I might have to. Going crazy down here!
