Hi, I had my first baby earlier in the year (May) and am just getting around to doing a 1st year album for her.
I was wondering about journaling and what others may or would do with journaling. I am thinking about her in the future and that she might not like having all the goo and gah on the pages, but rather in a secret area on the back?
Just wondering if anyone might offer some suggestions? I am digital scrapbooking the whole album, and printing at home. Just wondering if perhaps my handwriting little snippets of her weeks might be more special than just the "pretty" page?
Thanks for any help.

In the future, I think she would love hearing what happened when, what you guys were hoping and dreaming for her, and how you felt about all this happening done in a voice that is 'you'.
I think of the scrapbooks I make as being extensions of me, for when I'm no longer around.
By all means, include some incredibly beautiful pages - but include your stories, too!
But, I'm biased that way :)

I'm a storyteller by nature too, so I would include everything right on the pages. But, you do what you are comfortable doing - there's no right or wrong way, just your way :)

Thanks ladies...food for thought..I honestly don't know what to say on the pages..All my previous scrapbook pages of nieces and nephews and the dogs..All had everything spilled out on it..
I just get awstruck by her..and get caught up in not being cliche'ish on the pages. As time passes I am sure that it will be easier perhaps. And I have put little bits and pieces on the pages. I think I might just need to write a letter to her and put that in the album and then each page as it requires can have tid bits if needed..
Thanks ladies..your responses are greatly appreciated!

If you were her in 30 years, what would you want to know...
Where the pictures were taken.
What she was doing.
Why you felt the need to take a picture of it...it was cute, sweet, a milestone, etc.
Most of my pages are just telling my kids what they were doing...even if it was just being cute. :p
