Jay just came home and said we are invited to a party next weekend. Now I have to figure out costumes for us while he's gone this weekend.

Any ideas????

Note: Neither one of us are tiny so those adorable sexy ones at costume stores are not gonna work unless they are plus sized!

I was at Target and saw some cute costumes that are not really sexy/skimpy but are still pretty cute. You could do Dorothy and he could be the lion?? Or maybe go as surfers? Or Florida tourists? Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein? Marilyn Monroe and JFK? I saw at a party we went to a few years ago a couple were dressed as monks. Cant think of anymore right now.

Before we were married, Jeff and I went to a costume party as Drew and Mimi from The Drew Carey Show. Neither of us are tiny people, so it worked out well. I still have the photos somewhere...

OMG I had the coolest family idea! But we can't do it because my kids already have their costumes...

I wanted to do Labyrinth! I would be the baby would be little Toby (easy costume!), my 4-year old could be Hoggle (if we could find a mask), their dad could be Jared (lol!), and I could be Sarah (another easy costume!) We have an Old English Sheepdog as Sarah does in the movie, and because of Ambrosius in the maze- and I was going to look for a little stuffed Terrier to put on her back as Sir Didymus! That would be so awesome! :) And funny!

We go to a couples party every year. We've done:
Little Red Riding Hood/Big Bad Wolf
50's couple (poodle skirt and he just wore jeans and a white tee w/ the sleeves rolled up)
60's couple (go-go dress/boots and white leisure suit)

How about Princess Leah (in the all-covering white robe with that hair do) and Darth Vader/ or Jedi/ or Storm Trooper?

You can definitely get those costumes in plus size - trust me, if you can get them in the UK, you can get them in the US! - and the costume has the added bonus that every man of our age has a secret thing for Princess Leah...

My hubby & I have done a few as well:

Luke Skywalker & Leah (he's a perfect Luke and I look nothing like Leah, LOL!)
Thing 1 & Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss's book Cat in the Hat (this was an easy one, all we needed were red sweats, blue wigs all ratted up, and circle labels on the front of our sweatshirts)
Skeletons (painted the skeleton on some white hospital outfits that are disposable and worn by hubbys while helping wife in a c-section)
And this year, we are going in our 80s outfits that we used at a party a few months ago for a friend (got all our gear from a thrift store for $20).

Have fun at your party and good luck deciding!
